Construction Alerts

Construction schedule: Week of 6/28/2026

NOTABLE ACTIVITIES

  • Monday, June 29–Friday, July 3 – Early Morning Concrete Operations (3-4:00 AM Start)
Concrete operations are scheduled for Monday through Friday of this week and will now include sprayed concrete (shotcrete), a process that uses compressed air to apply concrete to structural surfaces within the excavation.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday – Concrete pumps and shotcrete compressors will begin arriving at approximately 4:00 AM, with concrete operations expected to begin around 5:00 AM and take approximately 6 hours to complete.

Wednesday – Truck arrivals will begin at approximately 3:00 AM, with concrete operations expected to begin around 4:00 AM and take approximately 7 hours to complete.

All equipment will be positioned within the excavation on the job site, with sound blankets installed where feasible to help minimize noise. The project team will continue monitoring sound levels throughout these operations to help reduce impacts. Concrete trucks will access the site via northbound Trinity Street.

ONGOING WORK

  • Weekday Work Hours
Excavation and hauling activities will run from 7:00 AM to 10:00PM.
  • Weekend Work Hours
Excavation and hauling activities will run from 8:00 AM to 7:00PM.

These hours fall with in the City’s allowable extended construction window, which permits activity from 6:00 AM to 10:30 PM.

Noise & Mitigation Efforts

We recognize the inconvenience of construction activity for our neighbors and remain committed to implementing and refining mitigation measures. Current and expanded efforts include:

  • Use of sound blankets and localized equipment shielding
  • Ongoing noise monitoring, including decibel tracking to ensure compliance with City thresholds
  • Limiting higher-impact activities during evening hours where feasible
  • Evaluating additional mitigation strategies as work progresses

Traffic plan around the redevelopment site

During construction, a traffic control plan ensures access and safety for pedestrians and bicyclists traveling between east and west in the Convention Center area. A defined truck route will minimize traffic impact with a one-way path for trucks.
